4th of July
We had an excellent 4th of July this year! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays second only to Christmas maybe. I love this holiday because it reminds me of what an honor it is to be American and to live in a country where we have thre freedom so many men and women past and present have given their lives for. Although at the moment we seem to have a less than patriotic president and he continues to make decisions for my beautiful country I do not agree with I still love my country and continue to pray for our leaders. Ok, enough with my little speech! Saturday we had a bbq of steaks and potatoes and corn on the cob which to me is a 4th of July staple. It was just my family this year since Seth's family was out of town and so were our family friends who we always spend it with but it was still a lot of fun! We went to see the fireworks at Mesquite High school because my Dad has to work it every year since he helps fun the fireworks. The last few years the fireworks have ended early or started late because of monsoons but this year there were no storms which was kinda bad because it stayed hot the whole time! Preston cracks me up because all week he talked about the fireworks and how excited he was for them and then when it actually was time for the fireworks he switched off between death gripping me, my mom, or Seth and kept his head buried and his eyes shut...I don't get it but hopefully next year he will actually watch them! Hudson, my no fear child watched them and love every minute! But all in all we had a great 4th this year and hope you all did too!
